Description: A pegasus rests briefly from flight; he alights in a sunny forest clearing, perhaps to be refreshed with a drink from the stream flowing nearby. The design features edge-to-edge stitching in all the shades of lush summer greenery. Background Information: Pegasus was designed as a companion to "Unicorn". The designs are identical in size, and the animals are of similar proportion as well. I decided to place the pegasus in bright, sunny surroundings (in contrast with Unicorn, which is stitched on black). I tried to imagine how a mythical animal might look in a "real" setting, and decided on a woodland scene, opting for realism instead of obvious fantasy.
Stitching Comments: I would say that Pegasus is medium difficulty: as mentioned, the piece is solid stitching...no fabric is visible. Less than half of the floss colors are blended, although there is a fair amount of quarter stitching... but the chart is very legible, and if you are (or someone you know is) a pegasus lover, you may just want to give this design a try.
