Description: A utopian scene of a large lion and a lamb reclining in the shade of an apple tree. A small child in shepherd's robes kneels in the grass beside them; the rest of the orchard fades into the distance. The scene is surrounded by an intricate border of apples and leaves on a dark blue background.
Background Information: This design has biblical roots: Isaiah 11:6. There have been many artistic interpretations of this subject-and no wonder! In the middle of what are very rushed, stressful, and sometimes dangerous times, a message such as this one can be comforting indeed. This design is a loose adaption of a commissioned pen and ink drawing I did many years ago. I purposely chose muted colors for this design to enhance the feeling of peace and tranquility.
Stitching Comments: If you can stick with it long enough to finish the border of this piece, the rest will be a breeze. Other than lots of floss colors, and some fractional stitches, this design really is not difficult. It is, however, fairly large, and will require some dedication and patience to finish..
Specialty Stitches: none
