Description: This design features a quartet of fruits: apples, pears, peaches, and plums, cross stitched with 2 strands of Appleton crewel weight wool on canvas. A twisted rope border in shades of gold finishes the design. 43 colors.
Background Information: For my first wool-cross design, I decided to go "traditional": fruits seemed a logical choice for subject matter. You may recall that I designed a "Fruit Bellpull" design for cross stitch: this design is totally different from that one. And don't be deceived by the small amount of 43 colors...I used numerous blends to get the desired results!
Stitching Comments: Stitching with wool on canvas is very easy. A inexperienced stitcher can easily get wonderful results stitching these designs. (This model was my Mother's first attempt at cross stitching!!) The only effort required is a bit of organization because of the blended colors. Because cross stitch doesn't distort the canvas, the work can be stitched in-hand if you desire ...no blocking of the finished piece is required!
Pattern Errors/Corrections: yes
